1-week Directing Course
Theatre Directing Course
This is one of the most intensive programs. In one short week, students are instructed in the basics of directing, composition and play analysis.
The program is highly practical, developing from simple to complex.
You will be able to find your personal unique approach to work with actors and dancers, through intensive practical training based on the Ostrenko Brothers Method of performer’s physical training and rehearsal.
The workshop is highly recommended to directors who want to advance their skills in
- Ensemble building
- Structuring the rehearsal processes
- Performance making
… and network with practitioners from different countries and establish future creative partnerships with like-minded people.
The workshop is a great opportunity for directors to work alongside performers in all stages of the workshop, including theatrical physical, speech and voice training. Studying in such a multidisciplinary and multicultural context is a unique experience.
OSTRENKO BROTHERS’ METHOD
Each week, students receive distant tasks, assignments, cases for self-studies which gradually lead them to
understanding of the topic and the ability to apply knowledge to the projects.
The Ostrenko Brothers’ Method is a systematic approach to performance, which generates innovative productions utilizing concepts, ideas, and existing play-texts. It introduces some of the effective techniques and approaches towards contemporary performance practice in the context of the short rehearsal time and multicultural aspect of the creative team.
The Ostrenko Brothers’ Method is internationally renowned, from Russia to the USA, from Iceland to South Africa, from Canada to Australia, from Singapore to Italy and beyond.
Our teachers are accomplished and working professionals who come from unique backgrounds and experiences. this perception outside to the audience.”
